Is my phone eSIM-compatible?

SILA eSIM works on most phones released after 2018. Your phone must meet TWO requirements:

1.    It must support eSIM technology (hardware requirement)

2.    It must be carrier-unlocked (not locked to a specific operator)

Apple iPhones

All these iPhone models support eSIM globally:

       iPhone 17 series (all models)

       iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max

       iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max

       iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max

       iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max

       iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max

⚠️ Important iPhone exceptions

iPhones bought in mainland China do NOT support eSIM, regardless of model

iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 models bought in the United States are eSIM-only and don't have a physical SIM tray

If you bought your iPhone from a carrier with a contract, it may be locked — check by inserting a SIM from a different carrier to test

How to check if your specific phone supports eSIM

iPhone:

3.    Open Settings → General → About

4.    Scroll to 'Available SIM' or 'EID'

5.    If you see an EID number, your phone supports eSIM

Samsung Galaxy:

6.    Open the phone app and dial: *#06#

7.    If you see an 'EID' value in the popup, eSIM is supported

Google Pixel:

8.    Open Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs

9.    If you see 'Download a SIM instead?' option, eSIM is supported

How to check if your phone is unlocked

The easiest test: borrow a SIM card from a friend or family member on a different carrier. If you can insert it and make a call, your phone is unlocked. If it shows 'SIM not supported' or asks for an unlock code, it's locked.

You can also contact your carrier and ask them to confirm the unlock status of your phone (give them the IMEI number from Settings → About).

Still not sure?

Send us an email (support@silaesim.com) message with your phone model and where you bought it, and we'll confirm compatibility within minutes. We'd rather you check before buying than be disappointed after.
